It’s been a long while since the last time I blogged, so hello!
Since we last spoke, I took on a new job at my company and a lot of things have changed! For starters, I really love what I am doing now but it is also so very demanding. There is almost no time to think, you just do. Luckily, I have worked there for 9 years and feel comfortable enough with the company to figure things out. Next week, I will be in Vegas for almost a week as we host one of the biggest events in the company’s history! That’s right… I am in marketing now. I wonder why I never realized this was my niche before? Don’t be fooled into thinking that marketing is just that fluffy job that doesn’t have any “real” responsibility. I own a budget and have to make financial decisions all the time. It’s pretty cool… have I mentioned, I love it?!
So, that’s why I have not been blogging, because I’ve been extremely busy at work and outside of Lydia, I had no energy left to even think about it. Sure, it crossed my mind often and I even wrote down some cool posts ideas I had in my trusty Evernote app, but I just couldn’t bring myself to feel motivated to write anything out. What ended up motivating me tonight was this….
Yummy fruits & veggies!!! Hmmm.. I’m pretty strange huh? This is the product of this week’s farming share that I just started with one of the local farms and I absolutely love it! I end up with so many fruits and veggies that I actively give a ton away to friends and family each week and it only costs $23! It has also been challenging me to use my handy friend, Mr. Pinterest, to think outside the box and cook meals that use up the veggies I have sitting around.
See, not only have I not had time to blog, but I have also fallen off the wagon once again with working out. It happened about 2 weeks into this new job. I had been back into a routine, going to the gym and running 4-5 times per week and watching what I ate… but all it took was one bad week and I totally fell off!
I couldn’t even tell you if I have gained weight because I avoid the scale like the plague, but today I decided I feel absolutely awful. I’m sluggish and moody and I really need to do something about it………… AGAIN!
Last weekend I did the Dirty Girl Run with two of my best friends and had a blast. I did every single obstacle (all were surprisingly manageable for me) and started feeling the urge again that I needed to be active.
So here I am! Back to blog about it! Maybe I will even get around to blogging about all those cool working mom topics I wrote down after the last two months….
And of course, I wouldn’t leave you with a picture of the little lady who will be TWO next month! Where did the time go?!
