Last Wednesday I turned 29… my last year in my 20’s… wow!
Over the past weekend, my husband and I took an overnight trip to celebrate. We didn’t want to go too far away from home because of the possible winter weather (turned out to be a good choice) so we drove down to Erie, PA.
The first order of business was to eat at Chick-fil-A, for whatever reason, Buffalo doesn’t have one which is a huge loss for us. Anytime we make it down to PA on a Saturday this is a must stop for us.
After we ate we made our way to the hotel and realized it seemed we decided to make the trip in a blizzard.
We roamed the mall for a while, which I never have time to do anymore. Then we went to dinner and had every intention to go to a 10pm movie but instead fell asleep and slept until 9am the next morning. It was wonderful!
The real point of the trip was to go to the Lucy & Desi Museum in Jamestown, NY. There was nowhere nearby that we wanted to stay so that is how we ended up in Erie, PA overnight. I’ve been a Lucy fan for as long as I can remember and have lived only 1.5 hours from her hometown my entire life! A few years ago, I went to the museum with my sister and nephew but my nephew was really young and it was hard to enjoy it because he needed attention. My husband decided my birthday was a perfect time to take me back and I had a great time. I’m fascinated by history as it is, but history and Lucy are a very awesome combination!
Afterwards we stopped at a local brewery on our way home and had fantastic Blueberry Beer, yum!!
The rest of my birthday week was not as great, Lydia ended up getting strep throat 🙁 and it really threw off the entire week. I took off on Monday but she wasn’t actually diagnosed until my birthday on Wednesday. I ended up missing all but one day at the gym to take care of her, but luckily she is doing so much better now.
I’m considering starting a 30 before 30 list this month. The only problem I have is that I also want to get pregnant this year so how realistic is it to complete 30 things while being pregnant? Maybe I will try a 32 by 32 list since I will need at least a year to recover from having another baby 😉
Also, I made some serious changes to my weight loss series that I will be posting later this week so look out for that!
